Our story of passionate childcare excellence

About the Company

The journey of Explosive Minds Learning Center and Childcare began with LaShaunda’s babysitting service, catering initially to teenage mothers in Hiram Clarke, Houston, Texas. Due to growing referrals, the service expanded its scope, eventually transforming into Explosive Minds Learning Center and Childcare in June 2002. Initially registered as a home with the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (TDPRS), it provided a safe and nurturing environment not only for teen parents but for all families needing affordable childcare.

Explosive Minds quickly became an integral part of the community, fostering educational growth and professionalism. By partnering with Neighborhood Centers Incorporated to accept childcare subsidies and earning recognitions from professional organizations and local schools, it solidified its role in providing quality care.

In December 2006, Explosive Minds achieved licensure with TDPRS (now child care licensing with the Texas Department of Health & Human Services), further enhancing its commitment to high standards of childcare. Today, with over 20 years in the Hiram Clarke community and 18 years serving Harris County and surrounding areas, Explosive Minds remains dedicated to its mission.

What sets Explosive Minds apart is its small, family-based staff with a shared vision, small group sizes, and well-designed, all-day learning activities crafted by highly qualified educators. The head of the teaching staff holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, is certified as a teacher in EC-6, and holds an ESL Certification, ensuring a rich educational experience for every child.

As it continues to evolve, Explosive Minds Learning Center and Childcare remains committed to addressing the evolving needs of the childcare industry, striving to provide families with the highest quality of care.
